The butterflies were waiting Sunday morning, right on cue for the start of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission’s butterfly day at DeKorte Park.

I understand hiking. I understand taking a pleasant walk in the great outdoors. What I have never understood was why anyone would devote so much time and energy to looking for birds.
