Known as the county seat of Bergen, the City of Hackensack received its current name from a Lenni Lenape Indian Chief who leased the land to Dutch settlers in 1664.

Hundreds of people gathered Sunday at Foschini Park in Hackensack to celebrate Colombian Independence Day. While Colombians make up a small percentage of Latinos in America, about 10 percent of them make their homes in New Jersey.
