NFL Hall-of-Famer Harry Carson, former linebacker and team captain for the New York Giants, is a much-beloved and admired fixture in Bergen County. Considered by many to be the No. 1 linebacker in NFL history, Carson’s remarkable football career is equally matched by his accomplishments beyond the gridiron. He has served as a college and professional football analyst for CNN, CBS and ABC and is currently co-host of the New York Giants game day magazine program, Giants Opening Drive Line. Harry Carson is president and CEO of Harry Carson, Inc., a sports consulting and promotions company. He also serves as executive director of the Fritz Pollard alliance, which represents all NFL minority coaches, coordinators, scouts, players, personnel and game-day officials. Carson is an authority and a frequent speaker on the topic of traumatic brain injuries and the prevention of concussions in sports. He also served as chairman of the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Sports and Fitness.

Thank you, Giants Stadium, and good night. Giants Stadium -- which has a March 2010 date with the wrecking ball -- won't go down in history as a pillar of fine architecture, great acoustics, or anything like that, but there's no denying that plenty of history was made at the old place.
