the bergen.com bio
In addition to her role as fashion editor for (201) Magazine and (201) Bride Magazine, Heather Zwain hosts weekly video shows “Heather's Haul,” and "Bergen News Brief" on bergen.com. Her "Best Dressed" column in (201) Magazine, is the talk of the social scene, with both men and women vying for a spot. Zwain's "Personal Style" feature every month is well sought after and features the stylish closets, lifestyles and homes of some of Bergen County's most notable.
Zwain’s personal style is a mix of different price points, incorporating new, old and vintage pieces together to create the perfect ensemble. She prefers feminine dresses, oversized sunnies, statement necklaces and bold cocktail rings, worn with classic white button-downs, skinny jeans, wide-leg pants, high-heels and fur vests. With Zwain's help, many of Bergen County's elite have attained classic and glamorous looks.
Says Zwain, “ If the latest fashion trends don't suit your taste or flatter your body, then move on. Grab something from the back of your closet, update it with current accessories, and you’re most likely on trend. Everything old is new again. Fashion shouldn't be intimidating or out of reach, it should be quite the opposite."
Even though Zwain has access to the latest brands and most well-known designers, her knack for finding great deals from lower price-point stores surely sets her apart and makes her style very distinct.
Zwain has styled a number of celebrities who reside in the prestigious area code. Topping the list are The Chew's Daphne Oz, Lisa Oz, Johnny Damon, NJ Devils Ilya Kovalchuk, NY Giants Jeff Feagles and Harry Carson, newscasters, Martha MacCallum, Tracy Wolfson, Kristine Johnson, Lori Stokes, and many more.
As a guest commentator, Zwain has brought her spin on fashion to tv, appearing on ABC Eyewitness News, “One-on-One with Steve Adubato,” and Fios1.
As a celebrity interviewer, she has talked style with high-profile fashion gurus Tim Gunn, Stacy London, Catherine Malandrino, Stuart Weitzman, John Hardy’s Guy Bedarida, Rachel Roy, Ken Downing, Yansi Fugel, Marc Bouwer, David Meister, Mark Badgley and James Mischka, Ivanka Trump, Leslie Greene and more.
Other high-profile interviews include Mary J. Blige, Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy, NY Yankees, Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, CC and Amber Sabathia, Geraldo and Erica Rivera, author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert, The RHONJ cast, Dina Manzo, Simon van Kempen, Glam Fairy cast, Jerseylicious cast, actor Jay Huguley, Malaak Compton-Rock and many more.
She has been featured as a guest stylist, hosted fashion shows and events at Scott Kay, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, C. Wonder, Karen Millen, The Shops at Riverside and Westfield Garden State Plaza. Zwain hosted Westfield Garden State Plaza’s style tour in October 2010, with special guest Stacy London, and Fashion's Night Out in September 2012 as well as many other events.
Zwain is widely known on the social scene and is highly respected for being so fashion savvy, determined and distinguished at such a young age. She is requested on a regular basis to host events, produce fashion shows and chose her "picks" from stores for high-end events.
