Edgewater
the bergen.com bio
Originally a fishing community, the lands of Edgewater were first claimed by Henry Hudson and settled by Frenchman and Huguenot Etienne Burdett. The Burdett family began ferry services in the town as early as 1758. Today, Edgewater is experiencing a renaissance with the construction of spectacular high-rise condominiums that rival those of nearby Hoboken. From shops to scenic views to restaurants and more, residents live the life of a city sophisticate but on the Jersey side of the Hudson and without paying New York prices.
