Groups of schoolchildren took a trip through the Macy’s Parade Studio in Moonachie on Tuesday morning, getting a preview of the balloons and floats that will travel down the streets of Manhattan next week.
Macy’s was hosting Studio Day at the company’s new facility in Bergen County. After putting together the magic in Hoboken for 43 years, the company officially pulled out of Hudson County last month and settled in Moonachie.
Five new floats were on display, including Frozen Fall Fun (a tribute to Thanksgiving and hockey), Hats Off to Our Heritage (a tribute to two parade leaders famous for their hats) and Zhu-niverse! (a tribute to the ZhuZhu Pets).
The parade, which debuted in 1924, kicks off at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.
