By

Episode 7: Quizmaster Ryan Greene digs around the streets of Glen Rock, in search of the answer to this week's Bergen County brainteaser.

THE QUESTION:  What Bergen County landmark was named "Pamachapuka" by the Native Americans?

THE ANSWER: (scroll down)

THE ANSWER: Glen Rock's iconic rock, weighing in at an estimated 570 tons, was known as "Pamachapuka" to the Delaware and Lenni-Lenape tribes, a term that loosely means "stone from the heavens." Deposited by glaciers during the last ice age, the rock is believed to have been a gathering place for local Native Americans to meet.
