The 9th Annual Teaneck International Film Festival Gala was held at Temple Emeth in Teaneck featuring a cabaret concert. This years gala also featured two Broadway stars, Tony winner Lillias White and Grammy winner Billy Stritch. The Teaneck Suburbanite was a media sponsor.

Bergen County resident, Heather Braverman stars in the new movie, “Night Has Settled,” directed by Steve Clark, which features Braverman as Lila, the girlfriend of the film’s main character, Oliver Nicholas. “Night Has Settled” was shown at the SOHO Film Festival on Sunday, May 18. The indie film premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Palm Beach International Film Festival.

After six years in the bridal business, Bijou Bridal owners Joyce and Julie Jou have pretty much seen it all. Epic bride temper tantrums. A father threatening to throw a punch because he's not allowed into the fitting area. A bride bringing 28 people along to offer their opinions on her dress.

Part of the team was filmed for a  commercial for the MSG Varsity network on Tuesday.  The commercial, which will premiere Friday night at 7pm is part of a set of advertisements under the banner, 'When one of us wins we all win'.  The commercials link how a community gets involved in high school events.  The advertisement will run through the end of the calendar year. Alexander’s, which opened in 1967, was known for two things: for not being part of the adjacent Green Acres shopping center (getting around the fence that separated them required patience and/or a helicopter) and for the curious abstract paintings that ran around the building’s perimeter.

One River Gallery, School of Rock Tenafly and bergenPAC teamed up to hold Art Rocks Live. The event included a concert by students of multiple School of Rock locations at Depot Square Park as well as the opening reception of the "Two River" exhibit at One River Gallery in Englewood.
