Pop-rock band "Fun.," best known for their hit songs "We Are Young" and "Some Nights," has scored six Grammy Award nominations this year, among other accolades.

Jack Antonoff, the band's lead guitarist who grew up in New Milford and Woodcliff Lake, could hardly believe the band's success.

"We're still in the eye of the storm," Antonoff said in an interview with The Record. "I feel like two years from now I'll be able to sit down and click through the YouTube videos and get some perspective on what's happening now."

Antonoff and the band also played at the Dec. 7 Jingle Ball Concert along with other pop superstars such as Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, One Direction and more.

"The past year has been crazy in so many ways," said Antonoff. "There's been so much insane non-stop work and travel."

Antonoff got his start performing in punk bands in high school at venues like the Wayne Firehouse and Teaneck American Legion, but has obviously come a long way since then.

"It's been a 12-year journey to get to where we've gotten to this year, and to be recognized with the nominations, it's a crazy rush of images and experiences in your head," he said in an interview with mtv.com, "and it all got us to this point."

Nominations are only the first step; the band will have to wait to see whether their nominations come to fruitition at this year's Grammy Awards ceremony on February 10, 2013.
