This past weekend’s Glee concert surprised audiences on Thursday night, June 16, when unannounced guests Jane Lynch, the cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, and Gwyneth Paltrow, the substitute teacher Holly Holliday, performed with the cast at the Izod Center in East Rutherford.
Lynch opened the show right before the cast sang their theme song, Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’." Thirteen of the cast members performed their usual hits from seasons one and two, such as, "Toxic," "Empire State of Mind," "It's My Life," "Single Ladies," “Somebody to Love,” and “Loser Like Me.”
Paltrow performed Cee Lo Green’s "Forget You" as she does in the show. Her special performance was taped for the "Glee Live! 3D!" that will be coming out in August. Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), who is from Tenafly, gave a solo performance of Katy Perry's hit, "Firework."
