Pregnant and pouf-sporting Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will be making waves tonight in Jersey as she launches her new book, "Gorilla Beach," with a signing.
A sequel to her New York Times bestseller "A Shore Thing," the novel revolves around Giovanna "Gia" Spumanti and Isabella "Bella" Rizzoli and the crazy adventures (and arrests) that occur while they’re in Atlantic City.
"I have a big imagination, so all of the ideas are just put into the book," Polizzi said. "I just think about what me and Jenni [‘JWoww’ Farley] would get into. Me and Jenni, we always get into crazy antics, so in the book I am Gia and Jenni is Bella."
Currently in her second trimester, Polizzi is not letting her pregnancy affect her plans. Along with the book tour, she will begin filming the sixth season of "Jersey Shore" next week.
"I am definitely taking it easy with the traveling," Polizzi said. "You know I am getting enough rest, so when my book tour happens I won’t be so tired and gross."
Her bump is not showing yet, but Polizzi’s doctor says she should "pop" in about a month. At five months, her baby’s gender is still unknown, but Polizzi said she will be excited to find out in about two weeks. There are names picked out, but nothing concrete yet.
Her cravings have been for fairly healthy food. "I eat a lot of pineapple," she said. "Like, I ate so much pineapple the other day that my tongue started to hurt. So I had to stop."
But the real problem is that she’s having trouble finding items for the baby that fit her sense of style.
"Since I am pregnant I would like to do diaper bags or something," she said. "Because all the things that I want to get, I can’t really find. I would love to design my own things. It would be so much easier because you know I am picky and I like to get stuff that I really, really love."
Polizzi is also toying with the idea of writing a pregnancy book.
"I would love to do something like Jenny McCarthy’s book ["Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth About Pregnancy and Childbirth"] and make the pregnancy symptoms kind of humorous for people so they can relate and laugh about it. Because a lot of the symptoms kind of suck, so I would love to, you know, for everyone just to laugh about it and kind of relate too."
Looking to the future, Polizzi says she would love to write another sequel to "Gorilla Beach" if the opportunity arises. And if MTV allows, Polizzi would "definitely" say yes to a seventh season of "Jersey Shore" and a second season of "Snooki and JWoww" – her spinoff with Farley.
"You know, I would obviously love to do a million seasons if we get the opportunity," she said.
As for wedding bells, Polizzi said she and fiancé Jionni LaValle are putting their nuptials on hold until the baby is born.
"Yeah, we are pretty much taking it one step at a time, you know, making sure we have a healthy baby and being good parents first," Polizzi said. "And then we will think about the wedding and have the baby in the wedding."
