The woman responsible for beautifying brides all over New Jersey has many reasons to celebrate these days. Alexa Prisco, a.k.a. the Glam Fairy, owner of the Glam Factory in Hoboken and star of the Style Network show, "Glam Fairy," is making her way to the altar and getting ready to say “I do.” I sat down with Alexa and her fiancé Danny Ziegler for a he said / she said interview at Quays in Hoboken to chat about their wedding plans, the Glam Factory, and her newest venture, the Glam Fairy Academy.  Let’s see how this cute couple’s answers compare!
 
Let’s talk about your home life together.

Alexa Prisco: When Danny and I met, it was such a magical time. We just clicked. After only a month, Danny moved into my apartment and we haven’t left each other’s sides ever since.
Danny Ziegler: We instantly clicked. She really is my best friend. We have the same views, get along really well and keep each other level-headed. We have been inseparable ever since we met.
AP: Danny just gets me.  He never complains that I take an hour and a half to apply my makeup or that I have a room dedicated to my clothing, shoes, accessories and makeup station, or that he’s surrounded by a lot of pink!  He knew what he was getting in to!

What’s new with the Glam Factory?

AP: We are expanding in a smart way. I have developed the Glam Academy, which is a place where up-and-coming makeup artists or anyone looking to learn about makeup, can develop their artistry skills and learn insider tricks from me. There are two levels of certification you can get: basic or senior. I just really want to offer something that you can’t find anywhere else, something different with a boutique feel.
DZ: We’ve given it a fresh, new look, but with the same core of what it means.

What’s next in store for the glammy world?

AP: Photo shoots, weddings… anything bigger and better and more fabulous!
DZ: She’s going in the right directions. She just wants more, more, more!

Let’s talk wedding!  You are a wedding guru!  How does it feel planning your own wedding?

AP: Chaotic!
DZ: Alexa is really busy, so I try to keep everything as organized as possible.
AP: He’s structured. I don’t mind letting him help me.

Does having the inside scoop on the business make you super particular?

AP: I am! I know the best designers and flowers. I’m around this business every day. It’s like I’ve been planning my wedding for 10 years. I know who’s good and who’s not.
DZ: She has great taste. And she has connections all over the place.  So, I say let her have the control!

Have you picked a venue or a date yet?

AP: I have it all planned out! I see myself either getting married at a place like Capitale or Gotham Hall, or maybe a loft on the Upper East Side, or maybe a romantic boutique-like wedding.
DZ: We don’t have anything planned out. We have not picked a venue yet. Alexa doesn’t want to get married in the summer where everyone is sweating the whole time. We prefer fall.

What is your vision for the wedding design?

AP: I see myself in a mermaid-style dress or a Vivienne Westwood. I am a total shoe fanatic so definitely Christian Louboutin hand-tweezed Swarovski crystal heels. And I will have black orchids.
DZ: Alexa has great taste and is very - specific. For me not to trust her judgment is just stupid. But, I do want to be involved in some aspects of the wedding.

Do you see yourself being a bridezilla?

AP: I have been in the industry for 10 years and have dealt with many brides, and seen many in their worst light. I used to book 15 weddings a weekend, so I have pretty much seen it all! I’m petrified of becoming like that!

DZ: She’s just very – particular. She’s set in her ways. We sometimes butt heads. But, it’s been good.

How about a bachelor or bachelorette party?

AP: I would rather spend time with Danny.
DZ: I definitely want to go out and have a good time! My buddies and I want to go big and get wild! Definitely VEGAS or Atlantic City!

Any hesitations about leaving the single life?

DZ: A little. I don’t see my friends as often as I used to. But, for the most part, Alexa and I are good. I don’t mind spending the majority of my time with her. I am lucky enough to get to come home to my best friend every day.
AP: I’ve softened a little. I guess that’s being engaged!
