Excitement filled the air as The Elan Catering and Events, Northern New Jersey’s newest wedding venue, welcomed more than 300 people to its grand opening celebration on Thursday, March 24. Shortly before guests arrived, Lodi Mayor Tom DeSomma joined owner Ari Starkman and his family for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event, sponsored by (201) Bride, Northern New Jersey Wedding and Event Professionals and The Knot, provided an inviting atmosphere for networking and admiring The Elan’s cuisine and venue.  Brides and wedding industry professionals nibbled on appetizers from menu designed by executive chef Joseph Macri, and gathered to mix and mingle with The Elan’s management, as well as tour the renovated facilities. The entertainment, provided by DJ Express Entertainment and New York City Swing, kept guests dancing and on their feet for hours.

The Elan set out to create an elegant and warm ambiance within their several event rooms, with the help of award-winning designers, Adam Leffel Productions and Smith Party Rentals.  At their departure, guests were treated to swag bags sponsored by The Knot and Art Gallery Cookies.

“We are excited to bring something new and different to Bergen County. From community events, weddings, birthdays and fund-raisers, we’re pleased to offer a range of options to those looking to host a special event,” says Starkman. “I look forward to building long lasting relationships and providing people with amazing events they’ll never forget.”

The Elan features three event rooms, totaling more than 8,000 square feet in event space, and is 20 miles west of New York City.
