Chef Central in Paramus held their 2013 Ultimate Chef Bergen County cook-off on Saturday, pitting Chef Adam Weiss of Esty Street Cafe in Park Ridge against Chef Ninamarie Bojekian of Ooh La La Catering and Events in Franklin Lakes.

After a one-hour cook-off, Weiss was chosen as victor over Bojekian, who was last year's reigning champion.

Weiss was supported by Sous Chef John Haggerstone, while Bojekian had her own assistance from Chef Flavia Amaral.

The winner was decided with the help of a panel of judges that included Thomas W. Griffiths, Rosie Saferstein and The Record's Susan Leigh Sherrill.

Each course prepared by the chefs was tea-themed, including everything from sweet chamomile to the smoky lapsang souchong tea.

The Ultimate Chef Bergen County competition took place over the course of four Saturdays, with the winner of the first three rounds proceeding to cook against Bojekian.
