At lunchtime, the picnic tables outside DePiero’s Country Farm are dotted with workers from nearby corporations nibbling sal­ad amid a picturesque view of the 88-year-old farm. Just down the hill, Craig De-Piero mans a tractor while two workers set tomato plants into the same soil his grandfather tilled.

The future for DePiero’s is now only three or four years deep, as rumors swirl about the family possibly selling 27 of their 55 acres to national supermarket chain Wegmans.
