A stormy afternoon in May couldn't dampen the festivities in Saddle River for "A Big Taste of Israel" in support of Gerrard Berman Day School, Solomon Schechter of North Jersey in Oakland. Despite threatening skies earlier in the day, the sun emerged and set beautifully on the grounds of the property, making it a perfect evening for celebration.
The event honored Dr. Mark and Shana Siegel for their continuous advocacy and dedication to the school and featured a lecture by Stephen Berk, the Henry and Sally Schaffer Professor of Holocaust and Jewish Studies at Union College. Guests were also treated to a video featuring students at the school, who shared their feelings about the importance of their Jewish education.
The team from Foremost RAM Caterers created a colorful and flavorful bounty of traditional Kosher appetizers and desserts that celebrate the culture and traditions of Israel. Ira Shulman of Foremost says the menu flowed naturally. "I was inspired by Israel and Israeli flavors, to reflect the theme of the evening."
