Teaneck's Thomas Jefferson Middle School students participated in a school-wide fund-raising event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society where the proceeds went to Shayne James, a leukemia patient. Students brought in loose change from home over the course of three weeks. The class who raised the most money earned a pasta lunch from the Olive Garden. Rashon Briggs's and Rena San George's fifth grade class was the top fundraiser, bringing in $467.46. The school as a whole raised $2,463,88.
