Ridgewood Public Library held its second annual edible book cake contest, where children and adults baked creative cakes based on their favorite books.

A group of about 60 volunteers Friday packed plenty of soul into the gymnasium of Elisabeth Morrow School in Englewood as they unloaded and sorted about 35,000 books donated by 21 Bergen County schools for use by teachers in Newark and Englewood.
