The Ridgewood High School Marching Band, under the direction of John Luckenbill, continued its competitive season this past weekend at South Brunswick High School, placing first out of five bands in Group IV A competition. The band also won the award for Best Music.

The band’s 2012 show is entitled, “Our True Colors,” which includes music from Cyndi Lauper’s hit “True Colors.” This year, the band marches 85 members. In August, the band welcomed guest clinician and 3-time World Snare Drum Champion, Jeff Queen during their Pre-Camp days. 

The band continues its season this weekend with a competition at MetLife Stadium to compete against other bands for the Yamaha Cup on October 13. 

The band's remaining competitive schedule includes:
October 13: Yamaha Cup at MetLife Stadium
October 20: Montville High School
November 3: USBands NJ State Championship in New Brunswick
