Film crews are shooting footage Friday morning for the second day in Ringwood State Park, officials said. The scenes are reportedly for the sequel to the "The Hunger Games."

Larry Ragonese, a spokesman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, said on Thursday that the state film commission gave approval for GGX Productions to film in the park for two days this week.

A source with knowledge of the production confirmed that crews were filming scenes for the highly anticipated sequel, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." It's not known whether the star of the series Jennifer Lawrence was in Oakland for the scenes.

Park security would not allow a Record photographer to get close to the set.
