The winter solstice occurs exactly when the Earth's tilt is the farthest away from the sun. At that moment, we are moving from increasing darkness to increasing light. Although the winter solstice lasts only an instant in time, for many cultures it signifies rebirth and involves elaborate festivals and celebrations.

Since the winter solstice means change, it was only fitting for Harvest Bistro & Bar owner Russell Stern and chef and partner Denis Whitton to gather their family and friends for a party to test new dishes for their restaurant. As each season changes, so does their menu. Harvest Bistro in Closter is a modern French bistro that generates lasting warm memories, in part because the menu reflects that atmosphere.
