Person-to-Person: On the Road with Christina Stoffo
By Bob Klapisch

It has been three years since Christina Stoffo moved to Rutherford from Brooklyn, bringing with her a bustling media career that has made her an invaluable resource for commuters.

Stoffo does traffic updates on Fox 5 and on the Total Traffic Network on several Jersey radio stations. She was also part of the inner circle at Michael Kay's ESPN-1050 radio show until the network decided to stop doing traffic in 2009. Kay and Stoffo had such great on-air chemistry he appealed the decision all the way up the corporate ladder, although to no avail.

Today, Stoffo lives in Rutherford, only minutes away from Total Traffic's headquarters in East Rutherford. Her parallel passion is fitness, and she lives it as a coach for Team Beach Body. Stoffo, 30, is dedicated to helping people of all ages become healthier through exercise and weight-loss programs. One look at her website – christinastoffofitness.com – suggests Christina knows where she is headed. No traffic jam here.

Favorite sports bar:

"It's called the Blarney Station, just off the train tracks in East Rutherford. It's a cool place to watch a game, especially since they serve food until midnight. There's also a place I like in Edgewater called the Crab House, which is right on the water. Great happy hour, a raw bar, and, on a nice day, you're looking right at Manhattan and the bridges."

Favorite place  to shop:
"Garden State Plaza, are you kidding me? It's like the mecca of all plazas, although if I want to buy shoes, I go to Saks at the Shops at Riverside. I've been there so many times they know me already."

Favorite place to eat:
"Definitely Tao's Wok and Restaurant in East Rutherford. Great happy hour, great food. I go there often."

Favorite place  to hang out:
"There's a great dog park in Wallington I like. There's an area for big dogs and small dogs, which is nice because I have two beagles. And there's a place for barbecuing along the side, too."
