Maxfit Spinning studio hosted a fundraiser for Triple Negative Breast Cancer research this past Thursday in Creskill. The studio had 30 riders each contributing a minimum of $100 each for the one hour Spinning fundraiser. The fundraiser was the brainchild of Englewood Cliffs resident Therese Lagana, a Maxfit Spinning enthusiast.

Lagana’s mother is a breast cancer survivor and she is an ardent supporter of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, www.tnbcfoundation.org.

“Everyone attending this Spinning fundraiser has been touched by breast cancer either directly or indirectly,” said Lagana. “My mother’s battle against breast cancer, my own fears and a determination to fight breast cancer through a healthy fundraiser were my inspirations for organizing the Maxfit Spinning fundraiser.”

“One of the most powerful things women can do in their fight for health is to live healthfully and mindfully. Chris Miller’s Journey Cycle Spinning classes at Maxfit are the ideal way get a great workout for the body and mind, so it was a natural choice to ask Maxfit to host this event.”

When Lagana approached Maxfit owners Chris and Amy Miller, they immediately loved the concept and were proud to be able to give back to their community.

“This is about bringing the community together to create health and hope,” said Chris Miller. “Empowering people by helping them take charge of their health through mindful living and safe exercise is our goal at Maxfit.”

“We are honored to have Therese Lagana and Maxfit’s support. This is our first Spinning fundraiser and we are especially proud to be involved because it marries health and wellness, framing the fight against breast cancer in such a positive way,” said Hayley Dinerman, Chairman of the board, The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation.
