Tabatha Coffey, owner of Industrie Hair Gurus in Ridgewood and star of the hit Bravo show, Tabatha Takes Over, made an appearance on the Dr. Oz show on Tuesday to discuss ways to prevent and remedy aging hair.

"The number one complaint people have about their hair is that it changes. Just as our bodies change as we age, our hair changes as well," Coffey says. The three biggest issues, she says, are thinning hair, graying hair and brittle hair. Luckily, she reveals secrets to fixing all three.

For thinning hair, Coffey recommends Viviscal Extra Strength, which she explains as, "a vitamin supplement that, included in a great diet, exercise and all of those things that you should do for yourself, will actually promote hair growth and thickness in thinning, hormonal hair."

Coffey explains that a common complaint she hears pertaining to graying hair is that it looks yellow and dull. For this, she suggests using Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo three times a week. The violet-colored shampoo will counteract the yellowing and increase shine.

Lastly, Coffey recommends treating brittle hair with Joico K-Pak Revitaluxe. Cliffside Park resident Dr. Oz says, "brittle hair is not just about moisture, it's also about having the right amount of oil to maintain its shine. And changing hormone levels will dry hair out." Coffey adds that the damaging chemicals and blow dryers that people use also makes hair brittle. Joico K-Pak Revitaluxe fortifies the hair from the inside out and will help to protect the hair from future damage.
