The Hopes and Dreams Foundation for Children, a Bergen County non-profit dedicated to supporting less fortunate and handicapped children and families, held its sixth annual Golf Outing fundraising event this past Monday at the Apple Ridge Country Club in Mahwah.
The reception featured a silent auction and live raffle. Attendees enjoyed a full-course meal and open bar, accompanied by desserts.
The event raised $50,000 for its cause and focused on acknowledging the recipients of awards and scholarships funded by the foundation. This year, the Nat G. Longo Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Casey Hollm, a 2014 graduate of Mahwah High School, and the Pony Power Therapies Award was presented in the amount of $5,040 to Pony Powers Executive Director Dana Spett to provide the opportunity for 8 children to attend an intensive summer camp.
