Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies held its 40th Anniversary Gala at Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley in Woodcliff Lake this past week. This year’s special honorees included Rabbi Shmuley Boteach as the Guest of Honor, Martha and David Cohen as the Parents of the Year, Aaron Friedman as Educator of the Year and Manny Genn as Service to the School.

The Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies is Northern New Jersey’s only community Sunday school program for Jewish teens. The school is the fifth largest community Hebrew High School in the country and draws from 22 different congregations in the region (Conservative, Reform and Orthodox).
