Siggy Flicker is obsessed with all things Ralph Lauren, from clothing to home décor.
"I love how classic and simple his style is," she says. "His designs have a sense of laid-back class, which is sophisticated and appears effortless. You don't have to wear a Valentino gown to be dressed up and put together."
Although Flicker doesn't like anything trendy, she does like a little edge mixed in with her outfits at times, and she achieves that by adding a leopard-print scarf or a great pair of leopard-print pumps to a black, white or red outfit.
"Leopard has a certain edge to it and is a little wild," she says. "I like the mix of classic with a touch of edge."
Flicker only wears clothing that is stretchy and comfortable and opts for brands such as St. John, Valentino and Hervé Léger from Neiman Marcus, one of her favorite stores.
"Westfield Garden State Plaza is my favorite place to shop in Bergen County," she says. "I especially love Lululemon's clothing because it sucks in all of your imperfections and makes any woman look good."
She also shops in other malls and boutiques in Bergen County.
"Bloomingdale's has the best sales, and Suite 201 is my go-to for sweaters, 7 For All Mankind "Slim Illusion" jeans and leggings," she says. "Suite 201's leggings make you look 10 pounds thinner."
Although Flicker likes nice things, she mixes different price points from high to low and anywhere in between when shopping.
"Jewelry and shoes should be top of the line," she says. "I love Herm s bangles and Anne Fontaine shirts because they never go out of style, and I don't like trendy pieces because they do go out of style."
Twice a week you can find Flicker walking up and down the aisles in Target.
"It's insane what you can find there," she says. "Not only do I go to Target for Tide and bleach, but for home accessories and clothing. It's my therapy."
Flicker also prefers classic over trendy when it comes to her home. She likes houndstooth and plaid prints and can't get enough of the combination of navy blue and white. Her other favorite for home décor is anything equestrian, although she has only been on a horse once in her life. From horse paintings to books to saddles that she has collected, her home is a mix of classic and comfortable, reflecting her overall personal style.
There is never a dull moment in Flicker's life. Actually, there is nothing dull about her. From the moment you meet Flicker, she exudes a sense of warmth and a contagious energy that makes you want to chat with her for hours. She has a natural sense of compassion, sensitivity, understanding and realism, which is perhaps why she is so successful in her field.
Flicker is a relationship expert who is currently working on her own TV show and finishing her book, Siggy Flicker the Love Picker.
Flicker has made several appearances on shows such as Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew, Wendy Williams, Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, Good Afternoon America and The Joy Behar Show. In addition to television, Flicker is working on her own radio show.
Flicker offers an important piece of advice to all her clients when it comes to dating and wardrobe: "Never buy a new outfit for a date. It is important to feel comfortable in something you're familiar with so you look comfortable."
Besides offering love and life advice for many and working full time, Flicker is a busy mother of four children: Joshua, 13, Sophie, 10, and two stepchildren. She lives in Tenafly with her husband, Michael, "her perfect and true match," and their children.
