"The Carrie Diaries": Englewood clothing collector gets big break on "Sex and the City" prequel

Zoë Levin's vintage clothing collection is a burst of bright colors and fabrics that can't be found in today's department stores. But they'll be seen on the racks of a 1984 version of Century 21, a setting for "The Carrie Diaries," a prequel to the beloved HBO series "Sex and the City."

Around 100 pieces of Levin's 1,000-piece collection were brought up from her Englewood basement and rented out to the production of The CW's show, which premieres tonight. Though Levin didn't end up dressing the teenage Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb), many of her pieces from the 1960s through the 1980s, such as a purple chiffon and velvet cocktail dress and a blue, yellow and orange patterned pair of sateen shorts, fill Carrie's mom's closet and serve as inspiration to the future fashionista.
