Hackensack University Medical Center and Seton Hall University announced Thursday that they will open the first private medical school in New Jersey in 50 years at the former Hoffmann-La Roche site in North Jersey. “We are excited to be taking this next step with Seton Hall University,’’ said Robert C. Garrett, president and CEO of Hackensack University Health Network. The as-of-yet unnamed medical school, located on the 116-acre campus on the border of Clifton and Nutley, would take over two buildings at the empty site and be expected to open in 2017.
