The North Jersey Avalanche hockey team took on the Long Island Royals in the "Hockey in the Park" charity game at Lasker Rink in Central Park yesterday. The event raised funds to benefit the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

The players and families collected donations from the hockey community as well as their local neighborhoods to be able to make a difference in people's lives. CCM was a major player in the event, agreeing to match a portion of the funds raised by the kids.  Westside Skate and Stick has graciously donated alternate jerseys for the teams to wear for the game and Lasker Rink has donated the ice slot.

The Avalanche won the hockey game 7-4.
