The first things you notice about Allison Rosenberg, busy mother of Piper, 5, and Rockwell, 3, and wife of music manager Paul, are her bright smile and natural, modelesque beauty. A typical case of "don't judge a book by its cover," Rosenberg, a Chicago native, is down to earth, a big sports enthusiast and 100 percent family focused.
"To be honest, my style is pretty much influenced by my husband," Rosenberg says, admitting that Paul not only helps pick out her clothing and shoes, but enjoys being the main decorator in their Alpine home.
"His closet is larger and more organized than mine," she adds.
As a mother of two young children, being fashionable isn't the first thing on Rosenberg's mind.
"I am most comfortable in a button-down shirt with a sweater over me, black skinny jeans, a scarf and cool sneakers, driving my kids around in my minivan," she says. "I dress with my kids in mind, which translates to my clothing being easily washable and wearable. I am lucky enough to be able to wear jeans and sneakers to Paul's work events 90 percent of the time."
Rosenberg finds herself attracted to transitional pieces with simple patterns that can be layered from season to season. She favors Smythe blazers, jackets with interesting components, great fitting pants, and scarves
"It's important that I feel confident in whatever I'm wearing," Rosenberg says. "Funny thing is I was voted best-dressed in high school. However, I had no problem trading in the pressure of coordinating outfits everyday for matching scrubs when I became an OR nurse at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City's Upper East Side."
Rosenberg's love for fashion does shine through when asked for an opinion in choosing the perfect topper for her emerald green sweater – a taupe-colored leather jacket or a structured gray blazer, both very appropriate and on-trend for the fall.
"Even if an outfit looks effortless, it still requires some effort," she says. "I really do enjoy acquiring new pieces and getting the scoop on the latest trends from my friends who work in the fashion industry."
When it comes to shopping for herself, Rosenberg opts for online shopping versus in-store shopping. "I find a ton of current and contemporary pieces I like on many different websites."
The only in-store shopping she really enjoys is for children's clothing, pretty stationery or gourmet groceries.
Every day, Rosenberg enjoys going for a run before picking up the kids. She loves reading and is currently finishing up the fifth Games of Thrones book on her Kindle.
"I really look forward to family time, a little bit of travel, the fall sports season and winning my football league, like I do every year!" she adds.
