Teaneck Community Chorus held a "Teaneck Teen Idol" competition on Saturday, where 13 semi-finalists competed to win a recording session and the title of "Teaneck Teen Idol."

The contest was held at Teaneck High School and marked the start of "Teaneck Sings! Week," which featured other performances by Teaneck Community Chorus.

The local vocalists performed in front of a panel of judges, who chose five finalists. The audience then chose the one winner of the competition, Chiffon DeLoatch, who will be able to perform with the Chorus at future concerts.

Judges included former Mayor Jackie Kates, Studio Owner Howard Bowler and Singer-Songwriters Audrey Martell and Grammy Award-winning Gordon Chambers.
